How Does Low Testosterone Affect Women?

Do you know that sagging skin during menopause is explained mostly by testosterone decline? ”Chicken arms” too.

Testosterone is considered a male hormone, but nevertheless it plays an important role in a woman’s body. There are two main functions of testosterone:

1.  Maintaining skin tightness tone and texture.  When testosterone starts dropping — skin starts sagging.

2.  Women’s libido is dependent on testosterone level. Isn’t it interesting?

Low testosterone in women is common. It starts declining along with estrogen and progesterone. Testosterone is needed to restore hormonal balance and I usually include testosterone in the hormone combination and adjust the dose after a follow-up blood test.

I’m doing a research paper on birth control pills. I’m noticing that they only provide you with estrogen and progestern, but not testosterone. in an article i read, it said that there have been studies talking about how lipido is decreased on the pill and that taking the pill for a very long time can actually kill your receptors for testosterone. according to the above information, it seems that you reall need testosterone, although women don’t always know it because it is typically seen as a ‘man’s’ hormone. so is there any thing you could tell me abotu the negative effects of birth control pills on your body and testosterone levesl, or more information on teh importance of testosterone? Thanks, i’d appreciate it :)

and if you could somehow notify me by email when you respond as well, that wuold be fantastic :)
