Plastic bottles: are they safe?
Everybody is using plastic bottles. Me too. What about you? Most likely yes. And we considered plastic bottles safe. Until recently. In order the determine the safety of plastic the scientists in the National Toxicology Program exposed rodents to the levels of plastic component in question bisphenol A similar to human’s exposure.
The result was not good: precaucerous lesions in prostate and mammary glands. Other finding were also noted.
Bisphenol A is a component of many plastics and resins used in food packaging. Bisphenol A is used in medical devices also. These finding may suggest that bisphenol A may be deleterious for human development. Probably further sudies regarding it’s safety are needed.
