Menopause and Muscle Loss

Menopause, in my opinion, is a deadly disease because of its effects.  Everybody knows about osteoporosis, which is the result of estrogen loss.

Now scientists from Washington University found that effects of menopause include muscle loss as well. It was suggested by serial biopsies.

The bad part is that even though women were given a high protein diet they could not maintain their muscle mass. In contrast, men, when given high protein diet, were able to maintain muscles.

So, how do we overcome the effects of menopause? The most logical and practical answer is to get back your normal estrogen level by hormonal replacement therapy. In order to make it safer than traditional HRT, use of hormones with the same molecular structure as our own, is imperative (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy). Why? Because our body knows what to do with them.
