Deadly mutant adenovirus 14 – should we worry?

CDC reported, that at least 10 deaths and at least 140 cases of severe illness were caused by a mutant adenovirus 14.Variation of a common cold virus. Outbreaks reported in New York, Texas, Oregon and Washington. So far no medicine was found effective.

Sounds scary. But the good news is that this type of virus is transmitted by nasal secretions and feces. So what we need to do is to wash our hands and to drink water from safe sources — I prefer boiled or distilled water.
