Sugar, Milk and Carbohydrates: Your enemy in the battle against acne?

Friday, March 18th, 2011

Are you suffering from acne?  You certainly are not alone.  Millions of people suffer from acne and those people have spent billions of dollars fueling the anti-acne industry seeking a cure for their problematic skin.  Unfortunately, acne products, especially prescription antibiotics and creams often come with awful side effects (Accutane has been found to cause birth defects).  Even more so disenchanting is that the treatments don’t always work and if they do, it’s temporary.  Those afflicted with acne vary in extremes from those that have just a pesky zit to having debilitating acne.  Unfortunately with a condition that afflicts so many and is so prevalent,  a definitive causality of acne has not yet been established in medical literature.(1)  What we do know is that there are many treatments available for acne, but there is no cure because we don’t know fully what actually causes acne. Heart Disease and Height Coincide

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

Is it possible that the closer you are to the ground, the more likely you are to be sick?

A recent article in the Associated Press noted a study that found that short people had a 50 percent higher chance of getting heart disease, than taller people.

It is also important to note that other issues, like smoking and weight also played important roles in these heart disease risks.

Read the full article here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100609/ap_on_he_me/eu_med_short_people_heart_problems

Well, there could be several reasons for this. Besides being hereditary, being short could also be because there is a growth hormone deficiency or malnutrition, celiac spru or parasites. And malnutrition in our society, or at least in the subjects they were looking at in the study, was not really a factor.

The bottom line is that if you feel like this might be something that you are faced with, or you are worried that you may be growth hormone deficient, or have an unhealthy gut, you should have yourself tested.

WHY BEAUTY TREATMENTS FAIL AND HOW TO GET YOUR BEAUTY BACK NATURALLY

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Are you frustrated with beauty treatments because you spend a lot of money and still don’t look younger?  Do you still have sagging skin and wrinkles you cannot hide with makeup? Do you feel tired because of sleepless nights, insomnia and mood swings?

Do you think that getting a few tiny wrinkles around your eyes is not a bid deal.  What you do not know is: a few wrinkles may portend a big disaster in your life — aging with hormonal imbalance.

You wake up one day and you really look at yourself in the mirror. It didn’t happen overnight, but it sure feels like it did. You got old! Your wrinkles are prominent, your skin in sagging, you have bags under your eyes from lack of sleep, and you look tired and haggard. What caused this, and how did it happen to you? You are not ready to think of yourself as old, yet.

“Every wrinkle has a reason,” says Sergey Kalitenko, MD, an Anti Aging Holistic Physician, practicing in Great Neck, Nassau county, Long Island, as well as Brooklyn and Manhattan. “There are several reasons why wrinkles happen, and it’s important to know that they cannot all be treated the same way.  You need to know the reason for wrinkles to treat them appropriately.”

At Dr. Kalitenko’s offices in Great Neck, they use biofeedback and other tests to look into the root cause of your aging problems, and find the right ways to identify, diagnose, and treat them.

Appropriate history taking, physical exam and tests will show that your wrinkles came from either:
