Can We Trust the FDA

Recently, Aprotonin, a drug for reducing bleeding was found to increase the risk of death.

This drug was approved by FDA back in 1993 to reduce bleeding after cardiac surgery. According to a February report in the New England Journal of Medicine, since then Aprotinin was given to about 200 000 patients.

How can we be sure we can trust them?
